Before I get to the last video, I'll go and comment on what MSN thinks are the worst Christmas movies.
Oh, really?
1. I haven't seen "Santa Claus: The Movie", so no comments there.
2. I do agree that the ending of "Jingle All the Way" was unbelievable. I don't think I'd be quick to forgive someone that NEARLY KILLED ME by giving him the toy I was wanting and then stupidly believing my dad would really be there for me more. If you saw the bit at the end of the credits, you can see that dad probably needs more work on that. (Kudos to having Martin Klebba featured in that pic.)
3. The GOOD "Home Alone" movies? YOU PEOPLE HAVE NO SOULS. Or haven't seen the fourth one, where they wanted to continue the McCallisters' story, but FAIL. Sorry, but Erik Avari can't save every movie.
4. I will agree that there was one part in the last "Santa Clause" that I didn't like. The whole scene with Scott being upset over children being greedy. Hello, do you not know by now that children aren't perfect and it's the parents' fault for not teaching them manners? That was so heavy handed and didn't belong there.
5. "Jack Frost"-Didn't bother to see it. Still makes me wonder why we get Henry Rollins in this and not him as Eddie Brock in "Spider-Man 3".
6. "Deck the Halls" wasn't a bad film. Not a good one, but you have Fred Armisen and Jillian Vigman as a German couple and Cheno as one of the main characters. It's watchable, okay? It's not freakin' "It's a Wonderful Life".
7. "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"-Again, someone has no soul. And can you believe the tree catching on fire did happen to Chevy's family, which inspired the film? True story.
8. "Christmas with the Kranks"-Again, someone expected "It's a Wonderful Life", but this played out like a sitcom, as you had a lot of sitcom actors in it*. And a ganguro. This is probably the first American movie that had a ganguro. I need to get a screencapture for proof...
9. "Surviving Christmas"-Didn't bother to see it. Like "Four Christmases", I can pass.
10. "The Grinch"-It should not have been made live action. Period. Well, Jim Carrey did redeem himself with "Horton Hears a Who" and "The Cat in the Hat" worked better as live action, but really, why?
*The sitcoms these actors were in-
Tim Allen-"Home Improvement"
Jamie Lee Curtis-"Anything But Love"
Dan Akroyd-"Soul Man"
The late, great Tom Poston-"Newhart" (With extra credit for "Family Matters", "The Drew Carey Show" and "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody")
Cheech Marin-"Golden Palace"
Jake Busey-"Shasta McNasty"
Arden Myrin-"Working"
David L. Lander-"Laverne and Shirley"
Erik Per Sullivan-"Malcom in the Middle"
And the last one? I used to be big on Power Rangers...until they started changing cast members. This is a story told by an older Tommy to his grandchildren about a time when the bad guys turned their diverse group of friends against one another during the holidays. We do find out he and Kat end up together (And still together! :D ), and some things run in the family.
"Power Rangers Zeo"-"A Season To Remember" Pt. 1-Yes, that is Alex Borstein as Queen Machina. :) I like her. Be it on "MAD TV" or "Family Guy". And yes, that is Richard Horvitz aka Invader ZIM as Alpha. :D
Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah and many other Happy Holidays to all!
